76The best ufc fights ever
I am about to give you an account of some of the best fights the ufc has ever seen. There have been some great fights over the years and what follows is a snippet of just some of them. The sport of "mma" or mixed martial arts has exploded in popularity in the last 2-3 years and one of the biggest organisations involved with mma is the "ufc or ultimate fighting championships.Ufc the future of sport they have some of the most exciting mma fighters in the world right now and there have been some cracking fights which have made the hairs on the back of my arms stand up.Obvioulsy there is always going to be fights that other people rate higher then some of the ones i mention but i think every ufc fan will agree that the ones i list were exciting from start to finish. These fight are in no particular order.Enjoy.
The UFC
Tim Sylvia vs Randy Couture ufc 68
44 year old Randy couture had been retired for over a year when he came back after announcing he thought the heavyweight division looked boring and dominated the 6ft8 champ Tim Sylvia. The fight ended with a unanimous points decision after randy had twice dropped the younger champion.Randy was back and champion again.
George st pierre vs Matt serra 2 ufc 83
These two had met before at ufc 69 in george st pierre's first title defense,Matt serra wasnt expected to do much but knocked st pierre out and he lost his title. This was george st pierre's time he had waited to be matched up with serra again so he could get his belt back, and so they met in george st pierres hometown of montreal, canada for the ufc's bigest attendance yet at 22000.The atmosphere was electric and form the moment george st pierre stepped into the octagon you knew he was going to emerge the victor. All hail gsp.
Chuck Liddell vs Tito Ortiz 2
The first fight was good the second even better especially after tito had been mouthing off for several weeks about how he was going to put chuck down this time.Chuck came out all guns blazing and tito couldnt deal with his punching power and got floored in the first round but came through just...In the second round came much of the same except this time he could cope with the power and the referee stopped the fight.Cracking
Forrest Griffin vs Stephan Bonner
Quite simply the fight that made the ufc what it is today. If none of you reading this have seen this fight then watch it now.A 3 round stand up toe to toe war with neither man backing down and both been awarded a highly lucrative ufc contract.Everybody was on their feet and clapping at the end of the fight. This is the fight that made me pay attention to the ufc.Check it out.

Anderson silva vs Rich franklin
Anderson Silva-The most dominant middleweight champion and pound for pound best fighter in the world had only been in the ufc for a couple of fights before he took on rich "ace" Franklin for the world middleweight title and promptly destroyed rich so badly that he needed reconstructive surgery to his nose to have it put back in the centre of his face. All hail the new world champion Anderson Silva.
Diego Sanchez vs Clay Guida
WOW.That's all i can say about this fight that happened at the ultimate fighter 9 finale. These guys had been talking crap for days and as usual Clay came bouncing out all hyper and got in the octagon then Diego came out all intense as ever and started staring out Clay before he even got in the ring. Then they just started talking crap to each other in the octagon. The stare down was crazy intense and needed four stewards to keep them apart. Then they were off, both of them run to the centre of the cage and just started throwing down, punches galore but Clay came off worse and they separated with clay all bloodied up then from there on in it was just a vicious war with knees elbows and all sorts included. If you haven't seen this fight, get the tape and watch it,fight of the year contender.

Hey warchild,
I saw all these fights and they were great! I would like to see Macheeta against the spider Silva. Since so many people say Silva is the best pound for pound fighter I would like to see Macheeta win. I always like routing for the under dog.
To Your Success,
Jim
in this selection you have major figth
nice hub man
What about Chris Lytle vs Marcus Davic UFC 93?
diego V Clay my favorite fight
I know this sounds silly, but i'd like to see anderson silva, who i think is the best fighter in the world, go toe to toe with Brock Lesnar.
I think one of the best fight was Anderson Silva and Forrest Grifith because it showed how professional fighting beats street fighting in a way. No offense to Forest Grifith.
I got to watch like 4 of those.. They were some really awesome fights... Great hub
hey my success guru,
do u mean Machida? Anderson Silva and lyoto Machida are like best friends they will never fight.
Great fights - I loved Chuck vs Silva - that for me was a classic brawl.
nice hub, but you forgot to mentioun B.J Penn VS Kenny florian. and Henderson VS Bisping
Anderson and Machida will never fight...they are good friends and training partners. LETS SEE ANDERSON AND VITOR BELFORT!!! HOW THE HELL DID DAMIAN MAIA REPLACE VITOR?
I think Anderson Silva is overrated. Besides Rich Franklin the only significant fighters he really ever fought had just recently lost. The match-ups are boring, when one of these new guys come up he will lose, and lose big. The guys he has been fighting just don't seem to want it that bad.
I am a huge GSP fan, and the fight between him and Serra was awesome to watch, seeing him recalim his rightful place as the people's champion!
Nothing personal just my opinion. anderson silva is to cocky and imma laugh my ass off when he gets knocked out by a real fighter. Griffen vs Bonner should not be top 10. I found it boring. if i wanted to see to idiot throwing punches wildly then id go to the ghetto and watch people fight. My favorite is Wanderlie Silva vs Chuck Lidddle. I think if they did a rematch Silva would destroy chuck because hes better now. N GSP is boring now, but i heard hes training his striking n if he can get knockout power he will be very very intresting to watch.
Obviously it happened after your wrote this, but Sonnen v Silva was perhaps the best fight i've seen. He destroyed Silva the whole fight and was just unfortunate in the end, Silva was very dissappointing. Obviously with the whole steroid scandal it can be said that is why Sonnen was as good as he was, but IMHO i don't think that made any difference to his fight, just his capacity to train harder. If there were ever a rematch Silva should watch his ass.
I still cant believe that Brock Lesner beat shane Carwin i think if they were to rematch. Not to sound rude but Brock lesner seems to be kinda of cock like when he flipped the fans off at one of his fights. Shane carwin is not cocky and that makes a huge difference in a fight
first of all i thought this was obvious but brock has way more power then carwin
sure carwin has better punches but thats from experince if brock had been fighting as long as carwin he would dominate him even more then their last fight
Anderson Silva (one of the kings of the 1st round KO) recently admitted that he never intended to beat Sonnen via knockout. Silva wanted to submit Sonnen for saying that earning a Noguiera black belt was like winning a secret prize in the bottom of a box of cracker jacks. Silva put aside his obvious striking advantage and used his jiu jitsu to fight Sonnen's wrestling and everyone knows that Sonnens'wrestling is top notch.
Its pretty obvious If you look back on the fight. Silva entered the arena wearing his noguiera black belt and full jiu jitsu gear. When he finished Sonnen in the 5th, the first thing he did was grab his black belt and attribute his win to his Noguiera jiu jitsu.
Sonnen will not be so lucky next time they fight. I expect a lopsided knockout victory early in the 2nd round. Silva will show Sonnen how versatile he is with his striking and how easily he can get back to his feet. And now that Sonnen realizes that Silva's jiu jitsu can take him out if he makes a single mistake, sonnen will realize that he lacks two of the 3 elements of MMA, striking and submissions.
why don't you knuckleheads try reading a book instead investing in this meaningless homoeroticism

Those were definitely some great fights!
